[Top Ten Tuesday] New-to-Me Authors I Read in 2018

Hey hey hey, guys, gals, and nonbinary pals! I’m back with my second installment of Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly theme created The Broke and The Bookish in 2010 and moved to The Artsy Reader Girl in 2018.

For today, the theme is New-to-Me Authors I Read in 2018. Considering that I only started blogging and really keeping track of my reading last year (not to mention reading diversely), pretty much all the authors I read last year were new to me. 😂

Nevertheless, I picked out ten really stand-out authors I discovered in 2018 to share with you all! Please note though that I only decided to include authors who debuted prior to 2018, so that this list would still fit the bare minimum of “New-to-Me” theme. I’ve also included links to these books so you can check them out!

Let’s get started!

[Top Ten Tuesday] Most Anticipated Releases for January, February, and March

Evening, my good comrades! As part of my 2019 goals to be more organized with my posting schedule, I’ve decided to participate in Top Ten Tuesday! As you all probably know by now, Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly theme created by The Broke and The Bookish in 2010 and moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in 2018.

For today, the topic was Most Anticipated Releases for the First Half of 2019. But because there’s just way too many books I’m looking forward to coming out this year, I’ve decided to divide this post into quarters. So today, I’ll be talking about my Most Anticipated Releases for January, February, and March.

#Project14Lists: 4 Reasons to Get Shealea to 4K Followers

Whaddup, guys, gals, and enby pals! How are your holidays going so far? Have you fallen into that post-Christmas, pre-New Year vortex of weirdness where you’re not sure if you’re still on holiday? Because I have. And I have fallen hard. It is literally a struggle to get up and take a shower, you know? I just want to spend the last week of the year cuddled up in bed with my cat, reading.

(Or maybe I’m just conserving energy needed for the New Year’s Eve festivities…?)

But! I made a commitment to Shealea’s #Project14Lists (read more about it here), and I stick to my commitments where Shealea’s concerned! And speaking of Shealea, today’s list is dedicated to her! It’s a part of my Christmas present (the rest will come when her, Cara, and I are all back in Manila, lol) as well as a blogging anniversary gift!

#Project14Lists: 5 Least Liked Books of 2018

Hallelu, guys, gals, and nonbinary pals! I’m back with my second entry for #Project14Lists, a blogging collaborations started by Shealea of That Bookshelf Bitch to celebrate her third anniversary. To know more about Shealea and her journey in the book blogging world, as well as #Project14Lists, you can check out her introductory post here, or the rest of her blog here.

This list is a little bit late, because I promised this would go live yesterday (blame Gail Villanueva and her propensity for turning lunch dates into lunch-until-dinner dates, lol) but I hope you enjoy my list anyway, which today will be about my least liked reads of the year.

Project-post-Project14Lists

I will be doing a wrap-up post of my 5-star reads for the year soon (mostly towards the tail-end of December so I can close the year on a positive note) but I think it’s also important to talk about the books that I didn’t like. After all, as book bloggers, we have the responsibility and the right to talk about both books we immensely disliked (as long as we remain courteous and don’t tag the authors, of course!). That is, after all, why we have this platform.

Without further ado, here are my least liked books of 2018!

Hello guys, gals, and nonbinary pals! I come to you today from the celebration of That Bookshelf Bitch’s third anniversary. Can you believe? Let’s all give my girl Shealea some props and kudos for being such a mainstay in the world of book blogging!

As part of her celebration, she’s currently hosting #Project14Lists, a book blogging event from December 18 to 31 with the goal of posting at least one bookish lists per day – and she’s invited a ton of fellow book bloggers to join her.

Project-post-Project14Lists

Yours truly is part of this team of intrepid bloggers, but because I am a coward with a shit ton of deadlines, I committed to five lists by the end of 2019 – to be posted on the 21st (that’s today!), 22nd, 28th, 29th, and 31st of December!

In the spirit of the season, today’s list will be all about the bookish gifts you can get for your family and friends. All of these books are from my 2018 reading list, so you can bet your bottom dollar they’re 100% Kate-approved! Strap in kids, get your Amazon wish lists ready, and take note of what you can get for the various loved ones in your life! (Or, alternately, you could decide which books from this list you really, really want and start dropping hints!)

#EverlastingNoraPH: The launch of the Everlasting Nora blog tour!

My hiatus has ended, y’all! Are you excited to have me back? 😉

If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know that I’m all about promoting Filipino authors and books. When I heard that there were a good chunk of 2018 and 2019 traditionally-published releases were by Filipino authors, I was so excited. And when I found out that one of those releases was set right here in Manila, I knew I had to have it.

I fell so much in love with this book that I just thought the world has to know about it! And so I decided to start my very first ever blog tour (ahhhhhh?!!) to help promote Everlasting Nora!
