January 2019 TBR

It’s been ages since I last posted a TBR! Wow – my blogging life really has fallen by the wayside, huh? 😅

Now I know a ton of you are actually mood readers, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that! But having a monthly TBR helps me add some structure to my reading and blogging life, and we all know that lately I’m all about having structure.

So what am I planning to read for the first month of 2019?

September 2018 TBR

This month’s TBR is brought to you by this tweet:

Me and my boyfriend will be celebrating our seventh (WOAHHH) anniversary next Sunday. So I thought of letting him pick my TBR for the month as a little way to bring him into my book blog (although I know he doesn’t read this, lmao).

So here’s what Derick picked out for me – seven books for seven years together!

July 2018 TBR + Reading Ban!

I can already hear you asking yourself, dear reader, “What? How can this be both a TBR and a reading ban post? Is Kate still jetlagged and not thinking straight?”

The answer to that is two-fold, my friend. First, I never think straight. I think bi. (Belated happy Pride Month, folks!)

Second, it’s both a TBR and a reading ban post because, while I do have some reading commitments I’ve made for the month, I’ve also made the executive decision to put myself on a reading ban until I finish my backlog of reviews. (Are you happy, Shealea?)

June 2018 TBR

Hi everyone! Welcome to my monthly TBR. As I mentioned in my May Wrap-Up post, I’ll be spending the month of June in San Francisco and New York with my family. This is prime reading time, y’all. Fourteen hours on the plane from Manila to San Francisco, and then a six-hour flight from San Francisco to New York with a two-hour layover in Galveston later on in the week? If that doesn’t sound like a readathon, I don’t know what does.

Since I’m on vacation – and also since I read 18 books last month (stick around for a post on how I did it!) – I figure I can afford to try and gun for twenty books this month. What do you think? Doable, or am I out of my mind?

Anyway, here’s what I want to read or die trying this month!

May 2018 TBR

Normally, I’m a mood reader, meaning I normally just pick up books on a whim. However, ever since starting this blog, I realized I should probably give some structure to my reading list, especially if I want to maintain my reviewing schedule nice and neat. Hence I’m going to start doing a monthly TBR post.

So here’s what I plan to read for May 2018!

The Wrath and The Dawn by Renée Ahdieh

Unbelievably enough, someone sent a copy of this book to my Kindle! I got an email from someone who asked me to add their address to my Kindle because they wanted to get me a book. I thought, maybe it’s an indie author, so I did – and when I refreshed my Kindle, this book appeared in my library!

I emailed the person back to thank them and ask them for any social media handles I could use to thank them personally, but they never replied. So whoever you are, if you’re reading this, thank you so much!

Beach Reads: Liwliwa Edition

This weekend is a long one, courtesy of Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor, for those who don’t speak Tagalog) on Monday, so some friends and I are heading up north to Liwliwa Beach in Zambales for three days of sun, sea, sand, and surfing. Of course, no beach trip for a bookworm would be complete without a big tote bag full of books to read while sunbathing.

Here’s what I’m taking to Liwliwa!
